There was a moment in this episode where I was all "WELL, GREAT, NOW THE PLAN WILL FALL APART BECAUSE NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THEIR FEEEEEELINGS.", except I forgot what show I was watching because everyone immediately talked about their feelings, and now the plan's in play! It's still not a GREAT plan, but working quickly with what's at hand, I think Katrina did a decent job of it.

Irving, though. I screamed a bit at the screen for that! (That, btw, is how you write a LOGICAL breakdown in communication. In case anyone is keeping score at home.)

Apparently there's a print version of Ichabod's diary, which I don't really have an interest in, though I could see how someone might. I am looking forward to the graphic novel.

WELCOME BACK, SHOW OF MY HEART.

Spoilers )

FRIENDSHIP and SMART CHOICES and SELF RESCUING EVERYONES and I AM SO HAPPY.

(Though I do have a couple of questions about Franklin (and therefore Ichabod's timeline), but Mison got a lovely wig and it's been a while since I've seen Danny Concannon on television, so we'll take the win.)

Every year I sign up for Yuletide I both regret and love it. This year was much more love than anything else, once my nerves wore off. I received a fantastic story that I recced on Christmas Day, but now I can share the one I wrote!

Fast Falls the Eventide (1122 words) by grav_ity

Help of the helpless, Lord abide with me.

ALSO, there's a dystopia written for "The Fox" that I think might have won Yuletide for real, preying mantisi notwithstanding: A Place in the Choir.

Yuletide is the best.

So, like, important things happened and stuff, and mostly I was totally onboard with it, but CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FIRST TWO MINUTES FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?

(And maybe also the part about Ichabod's shooting style?)

...Supernatural fans hate this, don't they*.

*don't answer that. Watch this instead:

This episode was a bit creepier, I thought.

Also, I had something funny to say about heads, but it's a huge spoiler ).

Note from last week: I am pretty sure that the population of Sleepy Hollow was 144,000. Even though there have been at least five deaths since then, consider the following:

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. Revelation 14:1

Okay, now that I am back from the chiropractor, I have some Real Thoughts about Sleepy Hollow. The first Real Thought I have is this:

Ichabod. Honey. Modern textiles. They are going to happen to you. I have resigned myself to this. But if you could see a way to keeping those boots and maybe wearing them for special occasions (like, say, Monday nights?) THAT WOULD BE REALLY GOOD.

The other thoughts I have are all Spoilers ).

The cauterizing axe is going to save them a boodle in the effects budget...

GUYS! GUYS!

You're watching this, right?

(In any case, it was a really good pilot. I was excited from the trailer, and I am even MORE excited now.)
