AN: I tried really hard not to write this story, and finally managed to wrestle it into a drabble. And then I remembered how much I hate drabbles. I kept coming up with 101 words, but I finally beat it into submission.

Spoilers: Journey's End

Rating: Kid Friendly

Summary: Donna buys honey without thinking.

........

You Never Can Tell With Bees

It's a little bit funny how a bear likes honey.
Buzz buzz buzz, I wonder why he does....

Donna buys honey without thinking.

It's not that she doesn't know how to think, nor that she has forgotten how. She sometimes remembers thinking all the time; great thoughts, little thoughts, deep thoughts, shallow thoughts, thought everywhere, skittering across the surface of the universe, but she's pretty sure it's all a dream. Turn left, turn right; makes no difference. You can always drive around the block if you're wrong. That's what the GPS is for.

Sometimes she hears her name singing down from the stars. When that happens she turns up the volume on the telly and shuts the window.

I like it! You wrestled it good.
Oh, I do hope Donna is back on Doctor Who in some fashion. I don't mind new folks, but what happened to Donna was so unfair.

I like the way Donna almost knows that there's more but blocks it out. It's like she senses the danger. Enjoyed your drabble very much.

Thanks! Once I threatened it, it was actually sort of fun.

I love these two sentences sooooo much. :D Perfect contrast between Donna's old life and her "new" one. :)

Funny you mention bees...they play an important role in the season premiere of "Pushing Daisies." Just...randomly. ;p

Thanks for posting. :)

I am particularly proud of that line. The great part is that I totally wrote it and *then* remembered the episode.

Bees have been getting around lately!

Oh, I did read, I just didn't comment (obviously I am a terrible person).

Sad and beautiful, on so many levels. Absolutely lovely.

I figured you probably had read it...but I am not too proud to beg. :)

Thanks!

I forget, sometimes, how much I love Donna. I tend to overlook her more often than I should, and this piece is one of those that just reminds me exactly why she's awesome.

Turn left, turn right; makes no difference. You can always drive around the block if you're wrong. That's what the GPS is for.

Probably the best set of lines in this entire thing.

This was a great drabble. I love the line about how you can always drive around the block if you're wrong, since that's what GPS is for. It's just so DONNA.
